I agree with a contact to have a confidential talk on Jami. Without my knowledge, however, the contact records audio and/or video data from our conversation in order to then process it elsewhere, which could undermine the basis of trust.
Would it be possible for Jami Clients to recognize if my contact wants to record parts of the conversation and I am first asked for my consent? For example with a popup, which I have to confirm and without which my contact can't do the recording at all.Pierre LespagnolPierre Lespagnol2020-01-01https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-android/-/issues/665Image-Transfer-Train can Stop after First Successful Image2019-12-03T14:41:02ZImage-Transfer-Train can Stop after First Successful Image- Ring version: 2019-08-24-01

Contact with Jami on IOS (presumably 2.14).
- Can you reproduce the bug: yes (seen three times so far)
- Steps:
1. Bring both parties on-line. Check connectivity
with text messages.
2. Send three images from Android to IOS. Wait for
transmission end of previous image before sending
the next.
- Actual result: First image is sent successfully. Second and
all consecutive image transmissions fail with error
message "partner unreachable". Text messages can be sent, though.
- Expected result: All sent images are transmitted successfully -
- no matter how many images are sent.
- even if sent while previous image transmissions are still under way.
## Additional information
It seems that the problem is on the sender's side (Android client): When the
problem is evident (no more images can be sent) it is sufficient to restart the
Android device (while leaving the IOS device alone) in order to re-enable
image transfer. For **one** additional image, that is.
Don't know if this is related but in that situation IOS client cannot send
images to Android client at all while Android can send to IOS in
one-image-per-startup mode. As described above texting is OK during that episode.Sébastien BlinSébastien Blinhttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-gnome/-/issues/1112libnatpmp socket error2020-10-05T18:17:31ZAndrzej Matuchlibnatpmp socket errorIf Jami is opened with a session in Kubuntu 19.10, whether the computer is connected to a network or not, Jami will report "failed to initialize libnatpmp - socket error" repeatedly, adding 100MB of data to syslog every 30 seconds and sa...If Jami is opened with a session in Kubuntu 19.10, whether the computer is connected to a network or not, Jami will report "failed to initialize libnatpmp - socket error" repeatedly, adding 100MB of data to syslog every 30 seconds and sallowing dozens of GB every hour.Sébastien BlinSébastien Blinhttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/721Packaging: Add Fedora 31 package2019-11-01T16:58:55ZjavierturyPackaging: Add Fedora 31 packagehttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-android/-/issues/666Resurrection of Deleted Contacts2021-08-19T18:33:53ZResurrection of Deleted Contacts- Ring version: 2019-08-24-01

- Steps:
1. Make contact with some Jami account.
2. Send text messages and some images.
3. Have one image transfer fail.
4. Delete Jami account where image transfer failed (i.e. image sender deletes the account, not the image receiver).
- Actual result: On GUI-level related Jami account is deleted as expected.
After Jami (device) restart deleted account triggers a contact
request automatically (i.e. w/o any activity from the other party).
If accepted, all text messages are gone
but the transmitted images are still present. Even the failed
image transfer with its error message is visible again.
After another deletion attempt (with same behaviour as described above) the
removed contact keeps sending contact requests when device is restarted.
Summary: Contacts are death proof if the last file transmission to it failed.
- Expected result: Deleting a contact must **purge all data related to
that particular contact** from the device, no matter what.
## Additional information
This fault has security-implications. Purging data from mobile devices is a challenge. Things would be easier here if all Jami data of mobile clients were protected by an additional layer of encryption (as already discussed in #652).Adrien BéraudAdrien Béraudhttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-gnome/-/issues/1113The tooltip of the + button should start with a capital letter2023-05-26T13:59:35ZannaThe tooltip of the + button should start with a capital letter-> "Open chat". At the same time I wonder why the search bar is called "Find or start a conversation" and if it needs some more changes.
My idea: Simply rename the search bar to "Find conversation" and declare the + button as "Start conversation". Because the search field never starts a conversation.
Irritating would be the back button within the conversation view, which currently has the tooltip "Hide chat view". Is it actually spelled "chat view" or "chatview"? And shouldn't it be called "Conversation(s) view" and therefore "Hide conversation"?https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/722File transfer to Android - server identity changed; MIM attack; stream IO failed2020-06-29T20:22:36Z白い熊File transfer to Android - server identity changed; MIM attack; stream IO failedI'm trying to send files from an Android phone to a GNU/Linux PC and back.

Today I installed the latest Jami on windows, but I'm unable to import my account from device or from backup.
My final attempt was to create a new account on Windows 10, but to my surprise after creation the blue circle was just rotating, then the application was crashed. More precisely quit without any information.
Even if I restarted and tried to make a local account it did the same. After some load it disappears.
On my Android it is working fine and I could also register a public account. On win 10 restore and new account creation is failing.
Any idea how to debug or troubleshoot this annoying issue? On my previous win 7 (same hardware) it was working flawlessly.
Thanks in advance!

And I wonder if the function could make sense or be understood differently.
My idea: I want to quit Jami and there is still an unsent message open, if I agree to the client suggestion, it will be saved as a draft and I can write it the next time I use Jami or finish it and then send it. The other option for users would be to discard the message when closing Jami. Of course, saving the draft message would have to be local and encrypted, as already discussed in other issues.
After a restart it would be nice if Jami asks me to continue with the open message draft.
An implementation could probably be realized for all systems and clients.

In this scenario, User B received no rings or other call notifications on either Ubuntu or iPhone.
User A sees an endless "connecting" message. After 2 minutes, User B sees "missed call" message on iPhone ONLY; no message on Ubuntu.
User A still sees "connecting" until they give up & quit call.
Neither side hears any rings in this scenario.
