Would love to see this in Ring clients too (including text message replies, audio message replies and video message replies).

It would be nice to be able to disable this fading, or adjust it's rate/speed, as it makes it harder to quickly go back and find something earlier in a conversation.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-android/-/issues/1114Client Crashes When Selecting Contact/Conversation2022-09-20T01:32:29ZOkyDookyClient Crashes When Selecting Contact/Conversation

I have two contacts (for some surface-level privacy, I'll refer to them as A and B) and one group chat (involving both). When I select one of my contacts (B) to view the conversation, it immediately crashes to the phone's homescreen. This doesn't happen with the other contact (A) or in the group chat and just started with this update.
I tested it from the other two contact's devices (both the same kind of phone as mine and from F-Droid, but they have Android version 10).
When contact A tries to view the conversation with B, it crashes, but is still fine for my entry and the group.
For B, it works fine with the group, but does the same crash when attempting to open the conversation for either A *or* myself.
Something relating to B's conversations with A and myself (aside from the combined group conversation) is breaking Jami hard.
I tried to run the diagnostics built in, but the crash prevents it from retaining any information it recorded, so I can't share any of the debug logs.Adrien BéraudAdrien Béraudhttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-packaging/-/issues/122PureOS 102022-09-19T08:45:05ZovariPureOS 10Please add `PureOS 10` to https://jami.net/download-jami-linux/

[PureOS](https://pureos.net/download/) states a version of `PureOS10.0` with a System Requirement of a 64-bit processor. PureOS is the operating system for the Librem 5 phone, Librem computers and servers.
> PureOS is a Debian-based Linux distribution, merging open-source software packages from the Debian “testing” main archive using a hybrid point release and rolling release model.<br>

It seems that `Debian 10` is different to `Debian Testing`. Having a link on the [Download Jami for GNU/Linux](https://jami.net/download-jami-linux/) webpage will help download the correct `*.deb` file.
It seems that `PureOS 10` should link to https://dl.jami.net/ring-manual/debian_testing/jami-all_amd64.deb, not https://dl.jami.net/ring-manual/debian_10/jami-all_amd64.deb

- Can you reproduce the bug: at will
- Steps:
1. Open Jami.
2. click on the settings button at the top of the Jami window, next to the account info.
3. Click on Audio/Video.
4. The preview camera shows the message "no video" and choosing any quality doesn't do anything.
5. Jami hangs when clicking on the X button at the top left to close the settings window.
6. The window becomes unresponsive and I have to force its closure.
- Actual result: The high resolution camera can't be used.
- Expected result: To be able to select a quality higher than 720p for videocalls.

Make a call Windows 10 -> Android
If you just choose the VP8 video codec during a call:
* The video of the webcamera of the Windows 10 user can be viewed by the Android user
* The Android user will view his own video preview
* The Windows 10 user will view his own video preview
BUT:
The Windows 10 user won't see the video of the Android user (or sometimes just a black & white video that will freeze (just the Windows 10 user will see the frozen video of the Android user) if the **Android user enables hardware acceleration** and **just uses VP8**
No issues if just the Windows 10 user enables or disables hardware acceleration
If the developers can reproduce, can you also try to reproduce this issue in conferences (and/or Multistream)?
