I should specify that I did not see the lag stop increasing at about 1 minute. That's just the longest it lagged before we reset.
The video also degraded more gracefully, spreading adjacent areas of color in the lower-frequency areas of the image (so that, say, a person in front of a red wall would look like a red wall with a high-pass Fourier filter video of a person overlaid on it), and cloning the bits of image directly above or below (creating smeared vertical columns of colour).
Unfortunately this video degradation also seemed to be rather progressive. Again, muting and unmuting the camera reset to the original quality.

I installed the deb package jami-all 20201223 in Debian 10 stable through Gdebi. The main installation seems OK, but the postinst does not work, I don't know why. According to the postinst file header, it seems related to adding a trusted source for updates.

For some reason this never gets executed and patching out the udev related code triggers some infinite loop. Since I'm not a c++ expert my patch could be at fault as well. Unfortunately, when I try to setup Jami account (welcome screen -> Create Jami account), every username I enter gets rejected as invalid.
I have tried entering long, pure gibberish "username", unlikely to be taken now. I have also tried checking availability of wanted username thru http://ns.jami.net/name/... and got confirmation that name is not registered yet.
When started from command line with -d switch, I get:
`[1609002403.095|11164|namedirectory.cpp :449 ] Could not load C:\Users\jacek\.cache\jami\namecache\ns.jami.net
lookup name is INVALID: "J" ""
lookup name is INVALID: "Ja" ""
lookup name ERROR: "Jacek" ""
lookup name ERROR: "JacekS" ""
lookup name ERROR: "JacekSt" ""`
...and so on.
INVALID lookups are of course too short, but then come ERRORs... Name "Jacek" seems to be registered, but starting with JacekS with following chars there are no conflicting usernames, according to ns.jami.net/name/
I have manually added Jami to firewall (a builtin system one, no third party) as allowed in private and public networks.
There was no path C:\Users\jacek\\.cache\jami\namecache\ (in fact, even .cache was nonexistent). I've created the path manually, but it did not help and nothing gets created in the directory "namecache".
It seems someone has already encountered this (or similar) problem: https://forum.jami.net/t/username-problem/217
Unfortunately, I rarely use Windows, so I may have overlooked something.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-gnome/-/issues/1231Add explanation to Jami account creation dialog what 'Profile' and 'Account' ...2021-05-06T20:38:05ZBruno KleinertAdd explanation to Jami account creation dialog what 'Profile' and 'Account' are used forHi,

I observed new Jami users with and without technical experience, struggle to understand what the information they provide in 'Profile' and 'Account' are for when Jami presents the Jami account creation dialog when Jami is run for the first time.
Please find attached a modified screenshot where I suggest to provide a textual explanation.

Why do you have specific install rules for every system instead of just using some default rules, and maybe add some special cases, where necessary, like basically every other project does?
You could just use some fallback, which uses the most common stuff.
I could also try to add some void installadion method myself, but I'm not sure, where to start.
