i use Jami both on a Google-Android phone and on a non-Google-Android phone (https://e.foundation). On the latter, there is a persistent notification message that Jami is syncing. I think this may be necessary (it sometimes is for other messaging services as well), but my advice would be to change the notification message, and say something like "Jami is connected" or something. I'd also advice to delete the time ("20h" in the image below). Now it looks like something is wrong and Jami is not syncing well, while it is syncing just fine.

But only thing that brings them together is that i sent the contact request. Several days passed and several messages were exchanged, maybe i didint try calls. I tested that again, and it turns out that
android to android contact initiator never gets to see contact shown-names (haven't checked after calls)

Hello again,
Now that I seemingly managed to enable logging on my computer, I can at least send what Jami is returning when it fails sending any message or even calling anyone.
The log is here: [link to Pastebin](https://pastebin.com/Uzdgj2xy)
Since I tried to call four times (and erased two of the calls from the discussion) I guess it's all about the 'renderer not found'.
I'm a bit concerned about the consistency of Jami. Just being online is not enough for me to contact a peer, to the point even sending a text message is no guarantee they'll receive it. One improvement recently, though, is that for some reason I receive the majority of *their* messages (I think). I did manage to call and even go video with my peers, but sometimes, it just won't work. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
[EDIT] I asked that peer to call me. She answered
> Apparemment le téléphone ☎ ne fonctionne pas ;) [It seems the phone does not work.]
[EDIT 2] Problem solved: It seems that whenever more than 1 (one) Jami client are running at the same time, *none* of them will react to anything. As soon as I killed the Ubuntu client to let only the Android client up, my messages were all received in a couple of seconds and we even got to phone each other easy-peasy.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-gnome/-/issues/1213[Feature request] Allow to add new contact by QR code & text2023-05-26T13:59:19ZNokia808[Feature request] Allow to add new contact by QR code & textHi. Kindly, ,make it possible to add new friend (or in fact make it possible to invite heir/him) either by reading heir/him ID QR code (as currently in Android application) & also allow to do that by entering heir/his ID as a text not only as QR code. Last feature (allow to add it as text) is specially useful in case remote freind can not show QR code ....
This feature is already available in qTox which is a Tox client, & Jami should has it ....
Best.
