installation in updated Debian 10 (gnome, pulseaudio), the following problems were noticed when using jami as sip phone:
(1)
gnome notification on incomming call pops up for a moment and dissapears; tray icon works ok and allows to open window while jami is still ringing; jami gnome notifications worked ok in older jami/sflphone versions in Debian 10,
(2)
jami mutes other audio sources (i.e. radio playing in rhuthmbox) on incomming call but unmutes it just after answering the call (should keep other audio sources muted until call is finished); it worked ok in older jami/sflphone versions,
(3)
after saving sip settings and restarting jami, some sip account settings are not preserved in settings form (i.e. auto resistration on expiry, reg expiration time, min/max audio and video ports).

This would be fine, if I could also select the gallery app from the side drawer in the system file picker, but I cannot.
![Screenshot_2022-12-29_17-01-11](/uploads/e82bb837591562ad86b38975a3877ce8/Screenshot_2022-12-29_17-01-11.png)
However, here's what I get if I try to select a file for upload by tapping the "Send file" button in a Jami conversation (also what I see when I pick a file to upload in either Element or Bromite):
![Screenshot_2022-12-29_17-29-56](/uploads/99f91fb63b52b19c94d5ee8bfe7158c3/Screenshot_2022-12-29_17-29-56.png)
I am not familiar enough with this aspect of Android to have a clue as to why this would be. But I hope something can be done about this, without it being unreasonable. It does seem weird that the generic file picking option would allow to select from a gallery app, but the "Open gallery" option only lets me browse regular files.
Edit:
Also, something I just now tested, when I tap on my profile icon in "Account Settings" and then tap the image/gallery icon there, it gives me the option to either "Complete action using Gallery" (Simple Gallery Pro) or "Use a different app" (Simple File Manager). Perhaps that same intent could be used for the "Open gallery" button in a conversation?https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1527[Feature request] Disable video if the Internet connection is slow2022-12-28T17:08:48ZElys[Feature request] Disable video if the Internet connection is slowall supported os:

I would like to have an option that every peer can enable or disable if the internet connection becomes slow that the video will be automatically disabled
A user should be able to set a download and upload limit (for example less than 0,5 Mbit/s for video upload and 1 Mbit/s for video download) and as soon as the speed is below the video will be automatially disabled.
But as soon as the speed fits the settings the video will be enabled again?
And maybe you'll be warned if you are host in a conference?
Not sure if it makes sense for audio calls so that even the audio will be disabled and only text chat (without attachments?) will be possible.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1526[Feature Request] Federated P2P conferences with hundreds of participants2023-02-20T13:10:47ZJacob[Feature Request] Federated P2P conferences with hundreds of participantsIt would be nice to have delayed p2p live conferences (latency 30-60s) settings, as of in [PeerTube] (https://joinpeertube.org/news#release-4.2) [ Latency settings support for lives], so that all peers could distribute video stream to ea...It would be nice to have delayed p2p live conferences (latency 30-60s) settings, as of in [PeerTube] (https://joinpeertube.org/news#release-4.2) [ Latency settings support for lives], so that all peers could distribute video stream to each other, this would ease load on host's device by 90% and hold hundreds/thousands of participants.
Sometimes teachers/coaches only give lectures to many students and don't need input from many of them during lesson, only after, they could send their questions in live chat.
This feature would be a kill move, since technically there are no restrictions on size of conference like in big conference arrangement services (e.g. Microsoft.Teams, Zoom, etc.)
F.e. only PeerTube with 1Gbit bandwidth and 18Gb of ram, 1080p, can host up to 7-8k viewers with not even filling full resources.
Some new home PCs can go up to 1k viewers with decent settings.

We have achieved a lot in the past year through significant and dedicated efforts of the amazing Thunderbird Team, meticulous work done by Dirk and majority of the council members. This has also been achieved through a close working relationship with and generous support of Marc Surman and the rest of the MZLA Board. I had the privilege to witness the many ways we can greatly benefit from our unique set-up with our direct access to the Mozilla resources plus Mozilla's executive leadership in addition to our ever growing community. > Despite the growth in messenger and chat apps, email is not going anywhere. In 2020, the number of global e-mail users amounted to four billion and is set to grow to 4.6 billion users in 2025. According to statista: "In 2020, approximately 306 billion emails were sent and received every day worldwide and this figure is projected to increase to over 376 billion daily e-mails in 2025. Recent industry data shows that the trend towards mobile also holds true for e-mail: in December 2018, 43% percent of email opens were via mobile. Desktop e-mail clients' open share had declined to 18% and webmail accounted for 39% of opens. Based on the dominance of mobile, the iPhone e-mail app was the most popular email client, accounting for 29% of email opens. Gmail was ranked second with a 27% open share, and Thunderbird was ranked 10th with 1% (March 2019).
