This *"issue"* is a question, not a claim :
Do you know [Silence](https://git.silence.dev/Silence/Silence-Android/) ? It is an open-source SMS/MMS application that uses end-to-end encryption protocol. So it works more or less as Jami (no centralized server).
As TextSecure did in the past by using instant messaging + SMS/MMS, I would like to know if you would be interested in integrating such SMS/MMS E2E encryption in your Android app ? Thus Jami would become essential in the communications environment (SMS/MMS + instant messaging + voice call + video call).
What do you think about it ?

However and I get "unjoinable peer" when trying to send from the phones and an endless "trying to connect" when sending from the laptop.
It works fine when the devices are on the same network.
I tried this with an iphone 5s as well as an android with jami from f-droid. The laptop runs linux, Debian 10.
Jami versions:
* iphone: live free or die - 20190812
* android: Live free or Die - 20190824-01
* laptop:"Live Free or Die" built on 2019-09-27 21:04:52 UTC
I did previously try Jami on a few occasions, but the file sharing never really worked for me. I manage to solve that using the VP8 codec, but it has a lower quality.
FYI, I'm running it on an Omnen HP, i7-7700HQ 2.8Ghz, 16Gb Ram, NVidia Geforce GTX 1050. I believe this should be enough. Also, I use ManyCam to join 4 webcams.
I hope I'm in the right place to ask for some help, as I really intend to use Jami to teach my online piano lessons.Iteration 16 (POC prep)Andreas TraczykAndreas Traczykhttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-android/-/issues/629Support Screen Sharing2020-05-21T16:37:12ZannaSupport Screen Sharinghttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/677H264 bug under Windows 102019-09-26T20:11:12ZFernanda MachadoH264 bug under Windows 10I'm having a huge problem using H264 video codec under Windows 10. If I make or receive an audio or video call, I have to talk loud and close to the microphone at the top of my smartphone. I didn't even notice there is a second microphone at that place before.
I would expect to be able to use the mike at the button of my phone.
In a normal call without Jami I can use the "normal" microphone at the button.
Another problem is, that during an video call I have to speak directly into that micro. If I'm looking at the video stream, I'm too far away from the mike so the other user can't hear me.

This is bad, because the feature is hidden and can be improved a lot. Also, this behaviour make it impossible to merge a SIP call with a Jami call (which is possible to do in the daemon).
# Idea
Use the same widget as the SIP transfer call (the dropdown), showing current calls on all enabled accounts + present contacts (because calling a non present contact is a non sense in our case). And just click on the wanted item to add it to the conference.
# TODO
- [ ] UI: create the dropdown showing active calls/conferences and present contacts (a treeview should be created for the user)
- [ ] LRC: refacto, and readd a collectionInterface to be able to create custom models like this one
- [ ] UI: The interface should be updated when new presence/calls
- [ ] Daemon: avoid automatic call holding when creating a new call
- [ ] LRC: modify joinCalls to be able to merge with calls from other accounts
- [ ] UI: add filter
- [ ] tests, tests, tests, tests.
