As a publicly available server, DHT is vulnerable to attacks or restrictions.
Can we choose to exchange IP addresses through email, SMS, or other means for communication when DHT is not smooth?
The information containing the IP address can be in public plaintext or encrypted characters. When our friends obtain this information (such as a character), they can obtain our IP address and contact us.
In many regions, there are too many software that cannot be used due to server bans. I am accustomed to planning for the worst, which is how to implement P2P when DHT cannot be used.
Many software can achieve P2P services without the need for servers, as long as the IP address is obtained.

The account was created for testing purposes, without registering a user name and with an empty password.
After the error occured there was an "!" next to the account in the menu. When checking the account details, disabling and re-enabling the account shortly displayed Ring-Account connecting, and then unknown.

So, are voice calls/video calls/messages encrypted? Is there support for srtp? If so, is the UI available? Can you please describe how encryption works?

I'm concerned about the following statement in your blog post:

Dears, kindly, what you mean by "SIP messages" ?? Do you mean that you using centralized server ?!
From my knowledge I know that SIP is centralized service need centralized server ....
If so, then which server you using ? The credential of Jami (& Tox messangers like qTox) is their decentralized nature. So, when you add new features required centralized properties, you will undermined your software ....

I installed ring on ubuntu and on a android 5 set top box.
The android set top box has a logitech webcam connected via USB (UVC).
I make a test call from android to ubuntu. (Or vice versa with same result)
Call is established.
In android I see the small picture from the android webcam, and I see the big picture from the ubuntu webcam.
In ubuntu, I see the small picture from the ubuntu webcam and the big picture is black.

Now I want to connect to the existing account, but for that it asks me to generate a PIN code on a device where this account is configured (that is what I understand, anyway). I had not generated a PIN code before removing Ring (and more than 10 minutes passed).

1) I installed Ring on Android device,
2) I used this installation to create a Ring ID from scratch from within Android device (not from a laptop with Linux),
3) later I decided to delete Ring from Android due to communications problem that make Ring useless in my case. I un-installed Ring from Android & delete all it's data from memory store of Android,
4) now I re-installed Ring on Android again to try with it again, but Ring on Android ask me either to link to a device or create new Ring ID.
5) I did not save (export) a copy from my old Ring ID that already created from within scratch,
Now, how can I restore my old Ring ID ? I can not login to it, because Ring on Android say: either link to a device (& old ID not linked to any other device other than Android mobile that created from within it) or create new Ring ID !!
Best.
