When in a call, the chatview shows as a row at the bottom of the screen.
When writing short responses, the information in the chatview quickly can't be seen unless one scrolls.
As screens are wider than taller, better use of screen real estate could be found by having the chatview as a column; hence, can the chatview layout please be shown as a column (or have an option to do so if the current view is required)?
Other programs have the chatview as a column and it seems to provide for a better UX.
What do you think?

Seems to work correctly in the English locale; however, doesn't work correctly for the hu (magyar - Hungarian) locale. Perhaps the length of the string is taken from the English source string, not the string which is being shown?
The options in the drop down are Bottom and Right.
a) In the future when RTL languages are correctly supported, should Right be Left?
b) Translators may incorrectly translate Right as meaning Correct.
c) In Hungarian, the context of the Right string should not be translated as Jobb but be translated as To the right which is Jobbra. Other languages may have this situation too.
A solution which can work now and into the future could be to change the strings so that:
Right is changed to Vertical
Bottom is changed to Horizontal
