What will actually happen if you (Windows 10 user) react to a message but the other (Android) user doesn't have this function?

Will the Android user get any notfication and/or black image/ empty message?

EDIT: Or if the other peer is using an old client of Jami?

a plain/text is added, like you send an emoji in a new message, and it will be shown like the desktop as soon as it's supported.
