Might be not related ... but any chance you can implement an error message if one peer wants to share a file from another drive (without launching Jami as an admin)?

Because at the moment sharing a file (from another drive without launching Jami as an admin) simply doesn't work ... and new users don't know why?

So if someone wants to share a file from another driver gets an error message like "Can't share file from another drive. Please exit and launch Jami as an admin" or anything else #880 (closed)

No . I actually meant if you use the share screen option to share a file for the video stream (NOT sending files from device A -> device B).

At the moment Jami will just not respond / do nothing if you select a file from a different drive.

That would be the best solution. But who fixes the bug? Microsoft? I think Microsoft won't fix that.

is this file audio+video? currently we only allow sharing file if it is audio+video. if you choose a .png it will not share

I meant during a video call (1:1 tested; and if I select an image file from another drive)

EDIT: I'll test again. Maybe it was a png. I'll try using other files.

Ok - The issue was that I used .png. JPEG works (different drive D:)

But it takes over 10 seconds until Jami on Android shows the file (although the Windows 10 user can view the file in his own preview already).

However if you select a video Jami on Android will immediately show the shared video.

So #880 (closed) is not relevant anymore.

I guess you can't use pdfs and/ or sound files?
