I am wondering, how is that not a show stopper for most of the people?
Conversations that are several days long look different on different devices and are impossible to follow.
this feature, Chat history shared across devices is dependent upon on Group chat being implemented.
making Host conference available on all platforms was to be implemented and then this feature would be implemented. Host conference has been recently implemented as advised in the article entitled “Free as in Freedom”, the new major Jami release.
the Chat history shared across devices and Group chat is planned soon.
If I have a phone and laptop and I send and received many messages while my laptop is off, when I turn my laptop on and launch Jami, I would like it to connect to my phone and get all the messages it missed while being off.
This is needed for a smooth experience. I would like to see the same for contacts were when you accept a contact request on one device, it will be accepted on all devices.
Hello - I just discovered Jami and love it - works perfectly EXCEPT for this lack of message sync between linked devices. I have one account setup on my Debian 10 laptop, and another account that is setup on both my Win 10 laptop and Android phone (they are linked). Everything works great and I would love to make this my default platform and recommend wholeheartedly to anybody and everybody, but the message sync over linked devices needs to be functional first.
When chatting from my linux laptop (the separate account) the sent messages do show up on both my Win 10 laptop and my Android phone, but any answer I send from one device or the other is not synced and that's a conversation killer.
Any timeline on having this working? (Please be soon) :-)
Thanks
I only registered here (and I hate registering, I can tell you that)
to say "Thanks in advance!" to every developer working on the group
chat feature (including the sync-history feature).
Fyi, there is still a loooooooooot of work for this issue and this will take a lot of time. I just prefer to post update on this ticket rather than another one. Just ignore the "Sprint" label
Any updates on the synchronization topic. I am experiencing that it works sometime, but somthime it is not syncing at all, even I restart Windows PC and Android phone. I have tested it in internal Wifi but also with mobile plan. Righ now it is again not syncing at all.
Are there any triggers that can be pushed to trigger thy sync process again?
