As I [wrote](https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/jami/2024-01/msg00002.html) to the list some time ago:
```
I've tried two browsers and a custom made gitlab account on git.jami.net
or my current Gitlab account, but it always end on a Forbidden page,
with a 403 reply that has the following headers:
HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden
I'm still stuck without Gerrit access due to the above authentication problem. It'd be nice if this could be resolved; in the meantime I've been sending patches via `git send-email` to the list.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1637Show translated article title in the web browser window title2024-03-16T22:01:55ZovariShow translated article title in the web browser window titlePlease show the translated article title in the web browser window title
It is possible to use E2EE on a SIP-call using ZRTP but this will probably be not the default setting of all peers. And even if you have E2EE the SIP call will probably generate call detail records.
So we should display a message if you add a SIP-account like:
"Note: Although Jami accounts always use end-to-end encryption by default, SIP-Accounts won't have end-to-end encryption even if you use (transport) encryption methods like Udp or tls. Using SIP-Accounts together with (e2e encrypted) Jami accounts might exploit data of other peers that communicate from a Jami account to a SIP-account and vice versa.
Also using the phone network might generate (additional) metadata even if you use ZRTP and E2EE"
And a dialog box with options like
* I understand and I wish to continue (Opt-In: Don't show this message anymore -it won't be shown unless a new own Jami is added)
* Use ZRTP and E2EE: Other peers won't be able to join if not enabled (Note. This might still generate metadata/call detail records)"
Generally I think you always get the "Finished" notification on desktop - even if that's not true
And I think it's not possible - for both contact 1 and contact 2- to cancle the file transfer (without having to exit Jami)?https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1581[SIP-Call] Should you have the option to enable your video if you get a SIM-c...2023-07-14T14:04:30ZElys[SIP-Call] Should you have the option to enable your video if you get a SIM-card call?I saw this option on Android AND the desktop client (Windows)
If you get a call (SIM-call -> SIP-account (using Jami)) Jami still allows you to enable your video / webcam although this is useless?
If you view your own video does Jami - because you've enabled it - actually use more data or will the video never be sent and the data usage will be the same like without any video?
Should we remove the option to enable your own video if you make a call or receive a call that is made using a SIM-card?
What about a "real" SIP -> SIP call? Can Jami check if the other peer's provider supports video? And should you auto-disable video for all peers if one provider does not support video?
(Special use case: SIP group call - one provider does not support video calls the other providers of the other peers do)https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1580[SIP-Account] Should you have the option to call back a private number2023-07-12T15:56:37ZElys[SIP-Account] Should you have the option to call back a private numberall supported OS
Steps to "reproduce":
You want to make a call SIM-card -> SIP-Account (using Jami)
But the number of the SIM-card will appear as a private number (caller "Anonymous")
If the private number calls you on Jami a contact "Anonymous" will be added.
Using Jami you now have to option to call "Anonymous" meaning that you have the option to make a video or audio call. (And maybe you can also send files and/or text?)
Example (I've replaced some text due to privacy reasons):
![Anonymous](/uploads/fcc41b975c84fd7ed9d719156de9673b/Anonymous.png)
So I think we should decide these options:
- Should an anonymous contact NOT be added to the contact list?
- And/Or should you disable all options to communicate with "Anonymous" (outgoing connections only?; like make a video call, send text message, etc.)?
EDIT: It's probably not possible to call back a private number? Or can Jami unmask a private number and you can call back the peer?
