Latest version update and install crash after

After some serious issues with connections mostly, I checked and yes, there was an update. I clicked to update and install. It went through the motion, including installing and now jami will not launch. It bounces twice, and then crashes. OSX Catalina. If you need anything else, please ask. 11 March 2022.

There is an update now with the fix. But because you could not open the app the only option now is to reinstall Jami. To reinstall Jami, if you are using Jami from jami.net, go to jami.net and download the app. Double click on downloaded jami.dmg and then move Jami.app to the same location where an old version of Jami is located. Choose the "Replace" button from the dialog.

Reinstallation of the app would not affect your Jami accounts and data.

I am sorry to reopen this issue because suddenly the application will NOT launch, just as before. I find this rather strange, after the earlier 'solution.' I have done nothing to my system such as upgrade or updates. I am thinking of restarting the machine, but can't imagine how that should affect jami. Looking forward to help! Thanks a lot in advance.

Could you share a log? To receive log run /<path to Jami>/Jami.app/Contents/MacOS/Jami -d from the terminal. And then copy it and save it to a file.

And could you provide a crash report? You could find it in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/

I can navigate in Terminal to: "/Applications/jami.app/Contents/MacOS/Jamie"

Can you please send me the exact command I must run in Terminal while in this location?

When you navigate in terminal to "/Applications/Jami.app/Contents/MacOS" run ./Jami -d.

The issue may be related to the metal support. Does your mac supports metal? You could check it in the Apple Menu in the top left corner. About This Mac->System Report->Graphics/Displays

You are right, it seems, about 'metal.' Any hope?

@whoami You should remove your ID or the ID of your contacts if you provide logs. Or change it to "12345..." etc.

Metal is not required for Jami. There is a fix. I will post update when a new version with the fix is available.

If you are using Jami from jami.net it already could be updated to a version with the fix. In the Apple Store update will be available in a day or two.
