You receive a call;
Now you are using your front camera;
Now you select the “Screen Sharing” option;
You tap the overview button;
You tap the home button;
Then you open another app;
Now you play android games
BUT:
If you return to Jami: (using the overview button)
Now you can see additional pictures/videos of the other person/object
Sometimes if you instead tap on the ongoing call notification this issue also occurs.
AND:
Sometimes: if you want to return to the Jami app and want to use the front-facing camera or back-facing camera (again) the video call freezes. - However, you can still hear the audio.
If you switch from camera to screen sharing the live video preview of yourself / your screen just shows black bars.
AND: If you click on the camera button you still see black bars (and the button "screen sharing" is still active - although you don't share the screen anymore - AND although Person B can see you). You have to click on "screen sharing" again to see the live preview of yourself.
Using newest beta version of Android:
Still same issues AND some new issues:
Person A: Mate 20 Pro, EMUI 11, beta version of Jami
Person B: Windows 10, Jami version: 202109171743
Here's the original image of Person A (Example from makeHuman, orange field=Person B, so the video that Person B can see):
Steps: Person A starts a video call. Now you see Person A (front camera, you can see Person A's full face). Person A now shares the screen. Person A selects the “Screen Sharing” option again to stop screen sharing.
Suddenly you can see just one half of the face of Person A. (Or sometimes Person B just sees a black windows (windows 10; The video preview of Person A (Mate 20 Pro) is correct) ).
You have to switch to another camera multiple times to see the whole face of Person A again.
The last part (with the zoom regarding the face cam) seems to only appear if you are using Android -> PC.
No issues if you make video calls Android -> Android.
Still same issue (although it is normally not possible to zoom with the front camera; Mate 20 Pro)
Same issue if you use ONE rear camera - even if one camera does not support zooming.
Just so you know, all the screenshare issues are in the todo list, we are doing an important revision of the Call UI which is the occasion for us to try to fix all of these issues (but it will take some time)
@ovari : unfortunately not right now, the todo list was like a reference to what i'm focused and working on right now. Maybe a kanban or a todo list could be a way for people to follow easily what is going on but it's would also be a sort of duplicate from what is published on the gerrit. tbd
Concerning the multiple camera sharing i've no status for this right now, i heard about this but i have no more information. If i have news about this soon i'll keep you informed.
@mcallet: I think it would be great if you test all buttons randomly (together with using the overview button a few times) because:
NEW issue: (newest beta version android)
You receive a call; Now you are using your front camera; Now you select the “Screen Sharing” option; You tap the overview button; You tap the home button; Then you open another app;
You return to Jami (click on the preview below)
NOW:
You can see two video previews above AND the video of yourself freezes after some time.
Example:
regarding Screenshare generally: Is it possible to implement this feature: #985
Would it be possible to stream internal audio on Android AND the sound / your voice of an internal or external microphone of your phone AT THE SAME TIME during a Jami video call ?
