Android: Unable to enter PIN to add an existing account

On my Android device (Android 4.1.2) (Galaxy S2) I'm unable to enter the PIN correctly when using an existing account.
The only possible values are the letters "A" to "F" and all numbers.
When I enter any other letter, it doesn't appear on the screen and I'm unable to access the existing account.
Furthermore, after trying to enter the PIN anyway, the existing letters get multiplied on the screen.
I'm unable to use my existing account on my android device.
