Also, I suggest to add information about enabling HW accel to get hevc working in enabled codecs settings. I figured it out by accident and for some time wondered why H265 is not listed.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1524Feature Request: Volume Slider2022-12-29T16:36:33ZCross NastasiFeature Request: Volume SliderJust a simple volume slider to adjust each participant in the conference!Just a simple volume slider to adjust each participant in the conference!https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1402Feature Request: Push To Talk Key & Open Mic Options2023-11-04T03:02:10ZtrymeoutFeature Request: Push To Talk Key & Open Mic OptionsA cool thing to add for voice and video calls would be the ability to set a push-to-talk key for desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux) and to allow an open mic option and to add settings to configure your mic. Similar to gaming VOIP apps like TeamSpeak and Mumble.
This will allow less noise during calls and will allow users to have more privacy features on their audio during a call.Kateryna KostiukCapucine BerthetKateryna Kostiukhttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1131Substantial video lag2021-11-19T16:52:47ZZulSubstantial video lagUsing 2-party video chat over a rather congested network, the video lagged more and more until it was about a minute behind the audio (which was acceptably unlagged). I should specify that I did not see the lag stop increasing at about 1 minute. That's just the longest it lagged before we reset.
The video also degraded more gracefully, spreading adjacent areas of color in the lower-frequency areas of the image (so that, say, a person in front of a red wall would look like a red wall with a high-pass Fourier filter video of a person overlaid on it), and cloning the bits of image directly above or below (creating smeared vertical columns of colour).
Unfortunately this video degradation also seemed to be rather progressive. Again, muting and unmuting the camera reset to the original quality.
This is on version FaiF.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/1116Crash with H264_VAAPI2020-12-08T22:58:25ZPierre LespagnolCrash with H264_VAAPIThe crash occurs sometimes 30 seconds after the start of the call in the decoding part when H264_VAAPI codec is used.

I would observe that a possible improvement which may help attract and retain users is if the video conference audio control could work better because with three or more parties it can sometimes get garbled. If I understand correctly it seems that audio streams are all merged. This is problematic for many parties. I think it would be better if central audio allocation were controlled by the video conference initiator or host. Other parties could raise a flag/ hands up icon to signify they have something to say and then the controlling party could switch audio accordingly. This could be better for multiparty comms. If not the default then maybe this functionality could be an option "Start video call with audio allocation"Jami for educationKateryna KostiukAline Gondim SantosMaxime CalletKateryna Kostiukhttps://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/820Share screen without webcam of others users2020-12-15T21:11:31ZFrédéric RAVETIERShare screen without webcam of others usersHello,

And to spent less bandwidth I'd like to have only the voice of the people, not the video.

Unfortnaly it do not recognize virtual caneras, like OBS, Xsplit and others. It also can permit to transmit in input only sound of microphone, but not of soundcard. If you will add options to choose any available audio and video input and output, it will allow users make video broadcasting and video conferencing where will be possible to demonstrate videos and make voice comments at the same time. Also will be nice to transmit directly to the group rtmp broadcasting. It will set Jami far ahead of any competition. Hope someday it will be possibe. My best regards.https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-project/-/issues/748poor screen sharing quality in conference2021-07-09T20:18:19ZGuillaume Hellerpoor screen sharing quality in conferenceThe quality of the screen sharing during a videoconference is very poor.
