using the newest beta version of Jami (Mate 20 pro):
Android: All you do is add your own Jami account to the contact list by searching the Jami username
The green dot (indicating that the person is online) does not show up.
You can make voice and video calls but you are not able to send files ([Android -> PC ]Error message "partner not reached"). Should work -just tried again.
Now sending files seems to work BUT if you tap on the received file (Android) you can't open the file immediately. No issues before.
You need to right click (using a mouse) and select save as.
I will update my issues soon.
However - still no green dot (newest beta-Version)
I'll try to replicate the bug with the received file, if it's persisting on your side @El4 could you make a new issue regarding this subject with some screenshot if possible ? ty
Have have ourselves added to the contact list and there is no green dot on the Android device; however, we are also signed in on Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon.
This Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon device does have a green dot.
probably not, at some point, old will probably be marked as archived and ask to be re-created. Migrating to the new structure will ask to much work and potential difficulties.
Deleting the contact from all the sides and start a new swarm will be ok
I did not test if it is swarm or non swarm: I just tried to call myself from the same account (but DIFFERENT network) and it worked. Before the last update sending files just showed "partner not reached".
In the past I was able to send files (PC-> Android) and if I clicked on the preview (NO right click, just single left-click) the file opened for example pdf in Adobe PDF (mobile). Although I think it was only temporary stored.
Now I had to right click and select save to open the received pdf file.
PC version (Windows 10): 202109211812 - so NO beta - and the should be no swarm (As far as I know the regular pc version does not have swarm - just the beta version?)
Android version (Android beta version: 2021092401): no green dot, I don't see my own account online, and the green dot of other person I call (in this case me (same account "Contacts") does not show up.
BUT: the PC version (NO beta) always shows the green dot
Does the normal version of Jami for GNU/Linux now have swarm? Or is it only the beta version of Jami for GNU/Linux that has swarm?
If the normal version of Jami for GNU/Linux has swarm, we'll start asking people to Remove conversation and then add it again to activate swarm and help with testing.
Now your own account is displayed right but your own online status (green dot) is still missing (Even if you remove your own contact and add yourself again).

Now your own account is displayed right but your own online status (green dot) is still missing (Even if you remove your own contact and add yourself again).
So the bug is that if I search myself and add my own account I should see the online indicator in the conversations list but it is not working now. Ok, I'll check it and see if it is a client-side bug.
