1. For approximately the last 3 weeks there are no call buttons on the top-right (red 1 in the image)
2. Workaround: Right-click on contact name in the left panel (red 2 in the image), then
3. select Start audio call (red 3 in the image)

Can the call buttons please show in the top-right when chat is synchronizing?

P.S. Have been having audio calls in the last 3 weeks with the contact; however, the chat feature doesn't work as it is stuck trying to synchronize the chat.

P.P.S. This seems to have happened as both contacts in a conversation deleted each other and re-added each other. Both parties devices show that the chat is synchronizing. Both parties have another device that shows the chat correctly; however, both devices are never connected at the same time.

If the bug is not fixed and this patch is merged we won’t be able to talk with contact.

If there is a regression with the chat and it’s syncs again, there will be no way to talk with contacts.

If a feature (eg chating) breaks, why should it break other features (eg talking)?

Please show the call buttons at the top right. This will enable calling a contact while the chat is syncing.

Calls can be done currently by calling using the contextual menu on the conversations list.

This should never happen as both devices are online. Please provide a reproducible scenario. Showing the buttons would be a bug as it should not happend and is a workaround

If the chat feature is broken, please don't turn of the call feature.

Having the call feature work if the chat is broken can help find the fix.

We no longer have Jami on Android. We only have Jami on 2 Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon computer. Only 1 computer has Internet at a time using mobile USB tethering for Internet.

The contact has 2 Windows computers and 1 (maybe 2) Android device with sync Jami account.

1. We [us and them (using Windows device)] removed each other from Jami.
2. We added each other using each others JamiID
3. Seems to have worked
4. We then put our mobile USB tethering for Internet into our other computer
5. Then Jami sometimes shows chat is syncing
6. We then put our mobile USB tethering for Internet back into our first computer
7. Then we placed a call and we no longer have chat with the contact

The contact also reports that chat doesn't work for them either.

Could be a problem when we have a contact that we remove on both computer that are never online at the same time and we change the Internet between our two devices
