Audio only: Show Screen share

Screen share is possible.

Please enable the screen share button to always show. Even if the video is disabled. Thank you

Implementing an Enable screen sharing setting and setting its value to false would mean that the screen share button is hidden.

1. Does the Enable video setting refer only to the camera? Hope so.
   

2. Does screen sharing still work if Enable video is set to false? Hope so.
   That is, does the Enable video refer to the video shown in the Audio and Video Settings
   
   Should Audio and Video Settings be renamed to Audio and Camera Settings?

3. Should there be another setting Enable screen sharing? Hope so.

Implementing an Enable screen sharing setting can enable JAMS administrators to also have more control to set what access users have.

Will another button be added (separate to Screen share) for File share in audio only call?

@agsantos indeed file share should stay, but it will only share the sound

@ovari @sblin No, we have problems with sharing audio, so a button will not be permitted in audio only calls for now.

EDIT: we can share a file, but the call will be upgraded to audio/video.

In this version, I think this ticket is Done. Just to summarize:

• If you launch the call in audio only, you will be able to share a file or the screen
• When you stop sharing a file/screen, this will return in the previous state (audio if the camera wasn't shown)
• Disable video will greyed out the codecs and remove video buttons

Note:

Disabling video cut all video negotiations, so you can't send video streams nor receive. That's why screen sharing is not possible and why codecs are greyed out.

There is a delay of about 20 seconds for an audio intercom call from Linux Mint to Android which are connected via USB.

Tested and work, now it seems that the lag needs improvement.

• Device A: Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon on fixed line internet connection
• Device B: Android 11
• Device C: Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon connected via USB tethering with Device B (i.e. mobile internet connection)

No lag when:

1. Device A shares screen with Device B
2. Device C shares screen Device A
3. Device C shares screen with Device B

Very big lag when:
4. Device A shares screen with Device C

And is there the lag with : false?

Disabled Enabled hardware acceleration, now

Now the image sometimes has blurry sections; however, fixed.

Ok I see 2 possibilities:

• It can be fixed by https://review.jami.net/q/topic:video-perf (less likely as it's more for conferences, but it can if you have an intel or a CPU for laptop). This should be merged soon.
• else, it can be your video driver on Device C (generally it's the case) depending on your GPU.

USB Thetering should not cause this, but if Device A and Device C are similar, you can check the drivers you have on both devices.

Which other operating systems should this be tested with? Should we can contact people who have Windows, iPad, iOS and macOS to test? Thank you

It's for the Qt client, So next windows release will got it and it's currently porting to macOS
