Thank you for your comment @sblin. Thinking further about the original issue, we were wrong. We agree @sblin was right and thank you for closing this issue as Jami currently does not need a full window option. The full window option is not explicit (not an optimal solution) like having a Show side pane/Hide side pane option.

Could Jami please allow, if required, the Jami operator to show/hide the conversations/contacts side pane.

There are reasons to show the conversations/contacts side pane when in a call/conference; however, there are reasons to also hide the conversations/contacts side pane.

A use-case to hide the conversations/contacts side pane: collaborative editing

Allows screen real-estate to be used for seeing the participants in a call/conference while using a collaborative editor (like Etherpad) side-by-side. The image below shows a single monitor with a Jami intercom call; however, real usage would have many participants.

Could the widget to show/hide the sidebar in LibreOffice (shown in the image below) be used in Jami?

A widget like LibreOffice would also enable the conversations/contacts side pane to be shown/hidden when not in a call, i.e. just in chat mode, or at the Welcome screen (you could show Jami at a trade show without showing all your conversations/contacts).

Can this issue be re-opened? Or something else?

I already did this proposition 1 year ago: #306 (closed) andn the related patch https://review.jami.net/c/jami-client-qt/+/20025 cause for me the show/hide pane is what is wanted indeed
