Can a button please be available on each participant’s image to take a full-sized (even if the size of the participant’s video is a thumbnail) copy/screenshot/photo of and save that participant’s image (without all the overlaid Jami buttons)?
The button below is from Linux Mint’s Screenshot application:
Jami’s Settings should have an option to set the location of the Screenshots directory/folder where the screenshots are saved, which could have a different location to the Downloads directory.
Jami’s Settings should enable the filename to be user defined so the filenames could be:

Personally, I want to add that if you allow to capture images of other people these participants (example Person A,B) should have an option to disable this feature on the OTHER device (of Person C).
Maybe there would be just one execption: If you are an admin you can still capture the participant.
And if you introduce such features please add a notification if someone records a call / captures an image using Jami. See: jami-project#1242 (moved)
Although everyone should know you don't have to use only Jami to capture content - you can also use external software or use a HDMI capture card (with HDCP 2.2 Bypass).
A use case includes when a teacher has a (LibreOffice) presentation showing. Any student can take a copy of the slide to study in detail at a later time (say for homework). The copy that Jami would save could be a better resolution that is currently seen in Jami and there would be no Jami buttons superimposed on the image. Sometime when we see presentations, parts of the slide are not viewable as the program, like Jami, added its buttons.
Another use case is if the teacher is using a program like Xournal++ for digital handwriting for students in language or physics (as shown in the image below) classes. Any student can take a copy of the teacher's notes.
Please advise if you require other educational, or non-educational, use cases.
You can use Jami to share a file (picture) or a user can share his screen.
It would be great if you (other) participants were able to save this screenshot.
BUT:
Example: Person A shares his screen (Resolution 2048 × 1080) however the participant (person B) only has a monitor that supports for example 720p.
But if Person B clicks on this new button he can save the file with a image resolution of 2048 × 1080 (instead of 720p which would be the display resolution of Person B)
Not sure if this is possible. (Right now only person A could send the file to person B)
And as mentioned:

Is it ok for you if the per-participant-screenshot button appears in the context menu when right-clicking on a participant, instead of the participant moderation overlay?
We're concerned that if we put this feature too much forward, it might hide/compete with more commonly useful features like recording.
Also it's not moderation-related, so it might be confusing to put it along with moderation-related buttons in the overlay.
Also we expect the feature to be of relatively uncommon use, so the tradeoff of covering the video of the peer is not obvious.
That being said, it might be useful from time to time for some use cases so it might make sense to put it in the context (right-click) menu.
Since there are multiple people and multiple video streams per person, more thought might be required on how the keyboard shortcut would select the tile to copy. Having Take screenshot in the contextual menu (i.e. right-click) would make it very easy to select the correct tile for making a screenshot.

Yes.
Having Take screenshot in the context menu can help with feature discovery.
Can a mouse cursor mouse button shortcut Take screenshot please be added?
Can taking a screenshot with the mouse pointer be implemented?
On GNU/Linux, highlighting something and then mouse centre-click paste what was highlighted.
Perhaps putting the mouse cursor above a tile and centre-click will Take screenshot?
Context menu works for taking tile screenshot; however, Bug 1 middle mouse button does not work for taking tile screenshots. Edit: Ctrl+Mouse middle click works.
Bug 2 Jami the window screenshare in Jami is very pixelated. Edit: Issue at #390
Bug 3 The tile screenshot is very pixelated (perhaps due to bug 2). Edit: Issue at #390
Bug 4 Don't know why there is a blue participant as we are the only ones in the call-swarm. Edit: Issue at jami-daemon#803 (closed)
Jami video call in call-swarm with a window share of Firefox
Video on left (the camera is covered) so okay
The window share of Firefox is pixelated (not good)
the tile retrieven is the one from the video renderer from the daemon, and for video all participants are mixed in a video of 1280x720. So, it's the full size

To have one tile at 1280x720 it need to be put on the stage?
