Hello.
Is jami client still supported on windows 7?
Yesterday I have downloaded it from jami.net using the usual windows-release link and tried to start it on several windows 7x64 machines but the error is the same:
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application."
I did not have any issues with older releases. It was working fine until april.
Is it worth of a try to build it from sources using an older visual studio release?

According to documentation, Windows 8 is not supported by Qt6. So even if developers will be able to fix this issue, the only long-term solution is to upgrade your OS.
Yes this could be the problem... But why the march 2022 releases worked fine on win7? Was it an older Qt? Is it time to correct "For Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11 and Surface." ?
@ovari I agree the webpage should be updated and developers should create an new button or at least a link where Windows 8 user can download the last compatible version. See: #707 (closed)

This one version is working well: jami_x86_64-202112221025.msi (2021-12-22 21:42)
I think I have to admit my mistake. March releases are no good too for win7. A latest one which is run fine on win7 is 202112221025. Unlike march and april releases It contains QT 5.15 libraries in the app folder instead of 6.2.3. @El4 was a bit faster than me
Linux is fine but there are some people who can not use it and do not want to study it. Anyway I am agree that windows 7 is an old abandonware...

Well - although I am using Windows 10 - I think Windows 7 still has some advantages.
For example if you play games like Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow you can't play them (at least without any crack / emulator) because of the SafeDisk copy protection.
Unless 32-bit versions of Jami are planned (which seems backwards step), the Download Jami (64-bit) button on the Download Jami for Windows webpage could be changed to Download Jami.
It seems that all Surface devices have Windows as the default operating system.
Is a Surface devices any different to any other touch screen device that has the Windows operating system installed?
Does Surface need to be in the string? It seems from the Surface supported operating systems webpage, some Surface devices run Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
even without internet it's critical to update any OS without security patches. Recommending to use a EOL (so no security update) will be a problem. If it's EOL it's not supported.
