Because the rendez-vous automatically answer and the host should not know if a rendez-vous is used or not, ringtone should not be started for rendez-vous accounts.

For a private room, the options "Allow calls from untrusted peers" is here for that. With this option, only contacts can join. Unknown contacts will be ignored.
In my opinion the option "Allow calls from untrusted peers" is not a good alternative for a password to prevent Jami-bombing because with "Allow calls from untrusted peers", you need to collect all allowed contacts before they can join. With a password, it is only necessary to give it to all persons you want to join and even if you didn't have them in your contacts, they can join, so it is much less effort.
I never said it's an alternative, nor it will not be supported. Rdv are still experimental and for now it's just the first iteration of the feature. There is still no UI dedicated apart a button to turn an account into a rendez-vous, so a dedicated UI avec to be done.
So yeah, maybe password will be added, but for now, it's not our use-case/priority.
