PIN should not contain confusing characters
Some fonts can make '1' and 'I' or '0' and 'O' hard to tell apart. Ring should not generate a PIN with these characters.
These characters could be replaced with others (such as '-' or '_') to keep the entropy level.

Can't every char be distinguished with a monospace font ? Maybe the solution is to use a monospace font for every PIN input/display ?
- Owner
Yeah monospace should do the job.
It would also be great for UX if all characters from PIN were lower case. Nowadays, users struggle to enter their PIN on small smartphone's keyboards in upper case because they don't have time/patience to try with lower case. Despite a lower case PIN being valid.
An indication in client do not seems to be a good option since it would be an additional nuisance in an already confusing UI.
