Homogenize `extension`, `plugin` and `plug-in` to `Apps`, `Jami app` or `The Jami App Store`?

There are strings that have the word extension and other strings that have the words plugin and plug-in. Are they the same? If so, should these strings be homogenized?

Should the Extension Store be renamed Apps or Apps and services?

Apps or Jami app can refer software that is classed as:

1. Applications
2. Applets
3. Extensions
4. Plugins

Jami is a free/libre, end-to-end encrypted, and private communication platform.

Apps run on platforms.

Jami is also a software ecosystem.

Some potential Apps that can run on Jami include:

1. collaborative editor, eg Etherpad, Collabora Online
2. collaborative whiteboard
3. websites
4. email servers
5. home/business audio/video door entry systems
6. polls/voting

There could be sections in Apps and services similar to Flathub:

1. Recently added apps
2. Recently updated apps
3. Popular apps
4. Productivity
5. Audio & Video
6. Education

The Jami App Store, inspiration from Flathub which says The Linux App Store

Please advise how and when to use both plugin/plug-in and extension. Otherwise:

1. Should the https://jami.net/plugins/ link be removed as https://jami.net/extensions/ is now functional? Or should https://jami.net/plugins/ redirect to https://jami.net/extensions/?

2. Should this repository be changed from https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-plugins/ to https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-extensions/

3. Should docs be updated, https://docs.jami.net/en_US/search.html?q=plugin&check_keywords=yes&area=default and https://docs.jami.net/en_US/search.html?q=plug-in&check_keywords=yes&area=default#, so that plugin/plug-in is changed to extension?

4. Should plugin be changed to extension in the link and contents at the https://jami.net/plugins-sdk/ webpage? Links to this webpage would need updating if the webpage link is updated.
