Jami shows the same user account twice (after deletion of old account?), wrong date; No more NEW (!) call history:

    (Maybe similar: jami-daemon#714 (closed) ) Steps to reproduce:

    Mate 20 Pro: You have to delete your own account that is displayed in the contact list (so you have Swarm: Is true)

    Same process using Windows 10. As soon as you click on your own user account it suddenly moves up.

    using Bluestacks 5: After I delete the old user account and I made a call you suddenly have your user account twice.

      video call Android -> Windows 10

      Even if you don't click on your user name - once you receive a video call your username moves up and shows the correct date.

      No more NEW call history:

      It does not matter if you make a (video or audio) call Windows -> Android or Android -> Windows your call history (that should show details of new calls) won't show

      However sending and receiving text messages and emoji works except: jami-client-android#1053 (closed)

      using Bluestacks 5 (Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus) -> Mate 20 Pro

      using the german version

      Version: 20220121-01

      Bluestacks 5 shows the same user account twice: UserDouble

      If I make a video call (Mate 20 Pro -> Bluestacks 5) only the first account receives the call.

      If I make a video call (Bluestacks 5 -> Mate 20 Pro) even if I use the second account (contact list) it works but the call history shows up in the first user account.

      EDIT: It is NOT possible to make a call (Bluestacks 5 -> Mate 20 Pro) if I use the FIRST account. However - the call history can be only viewed if I click on the first account (same username)

      Neither Bluestacks 5 nor Mate 20 Pro: No profile picture is shown: jami-client-android#1049 (closed)

      And the translation of the time is different? wrongtime

      However - if I keep Jami running (Mate 20 Pro) and make a video call (-> Windows 10 (Exit Bluestacks before)) suddenly I can see the new call history.

      Same Windows 10 -> Android

        Hello @El4,

        thanks for this report :smiley:

        It seems similar to the issue #1049 and there's a patch that should be deployed with the next beta.

        However let's keep this issue open in case it's another bug, will check on Android if i'm able to reproduce with a standard Jami version.

        I think it's another issue because before I did the last update I just had issues regarding the "Account name and profile picture not showing" but I NEVER had the same user account twice. (Neither Windows 10 nor Android)

        EDIT: I deleted my own account (Mate 20 Pro) before I did the last update. - I don't get the same user account twice.

        However -as far as I know - using Bluestacks 5 I deleted my own account after I did the last update.

        Seems it's a bug related to: jami-client-android#1053 (closed) I'll update soon.

        @mcallet Just found out:

        It is possible to send a file Android Emulator (Bluestacks 5) -> Android (Mate 20 Pro) if I use the first account. However if I use the other account I just sometimes get an invitation and it fails.

      If I restart Jami (Windows 10, after a few hours) it seems once file sending worked the issue is gone (at least Windows 10 Version)?

      Update: I didn't do anything.

      Bluestacks 5

      However ... Suddenly there is only one (of the same user account) left ... And file transfer NEVER works

      Also ... it seems that Jami (Windows 10) does not have the issue mentioned above after a few days/weeks ? (Howver - sending files is still not possible (Windows 10 -> Android) )

      So I tried the following steps:

      Bluestacks 5:

      1. Delete own user account (example "myuseraccount" from contact list)

      2. Now open Jami (Windows 10); your own user account ("myuseraccount") is still here

      3. Send a text message Windows 10 ("myuseraccount" I did NOT delete it) to Bluestacks 5 ("myuseraccount" is not in the contact list anymore)

      4. Close Jami (Windows 10)

      5. Open Jami (Windows 10) again: Suddenly you don't get the name of the user name of your own Jami account but the identifier (no own profile picture [Windows 10, contact list] anymore)

      6. Close Jami

      Bluestacks 5: Now I want to add my own user account to the contact list again

      It does not work if I want to add the user account by clicking on "start conversation" (Pressing "Enter" does not do anything).

      -> I need the QR-Code of my own contact

      I use my "real" Android Smartphone (Mate 20 Pro) to scan the code of Bluestacks 5. Now my own user name is listed in the contact list (Bluestacks 5) again. As soon as I accept the invitation?

      [ I think the last time I used a "real" webcam (Bluestacks 5) to scan the qr code of the windows 10 client. And then / or after that I also used the "real smartphone" (to send messages / make video calls) I had the same user account twice if I you send messages/ make video calls between Windows 10 -> Bluestacks 5 ]

      Now if I start Jami (Windows 10) again suddenly your identifier is gone and your real username is displayed together with the profile picture (which was not visible before).

      I never saw the issue again (Windows 10). Seems it has disappeared without a trace

      However: I just made a (audio?)/video call (Android [Mate 20 Pro] -> Windows 10) and I have the same issue again: Date 01/01/70 as mentioned above and if I click on my own user account I get the right date?

      EDIT: Now I turn off my phone. I quit Jami (Windows 10). Suddenly I don't have the issue ... but last time I had this issue often and for a long time even if I turn off my phone and restart Jami.

      If this patch https://review.jami.net/c/jami-daemon/+/22242 avoids the same contact twice after you delete a contact this issue should be fixed?

      So I close; if I someone reproduces we can reopen.

        @El4 this patch will avoid duplicates after a ban. I hope it was the last scenarios.

        I think (in the past /a few months ago?; before I tried the blocking stuff the last two weeks) I have never banned myself but I simply deleted my old (Non-Swarm) account in the contact list (Android?). So you get a contact (Swarm: Is true) in the contact list.

        BTW I was always using "sameJamiaccount1"(windows 10) → "sameJamiaccount1"(Android)

        Will this also be fixed with this patch if you don't ban but just delete the contact?
