Use of deprecated gdk and gtk features

The client uses several deprecated features which could eventually be an issue. Attached is a grep of the make logs listing the deprecated functions.

Note: The major part of this deprecated methods is here because the gtk version used is the one on Ubuntu 16.04, so we should only remove the ones deprecated on the version used by Ubuntu 16.04.
