From personal experience with teaching staff, it's important, that they see themselves as other participants see them.
Think of a teacher during a lesson. If the writing on the blackboard is mirrored, he will worry, that some students will see mirrored letters on the blackboard as well. Panic will ensue and 15 minutes of the lecture are gone.
Not sure if we should actually create a new ticket - but can you please also allow to mirror your own video - Multistream: select "just" your camera or both your camera and your shared screen - so that the OTHER peers will also view this video modified?
Same when it comes to rotating: Can you also allow to just rotate your "real" camera but not your shared screen or rotate the "real" camera 90° and your shared screen 180°?
This patch is client side only and introduces a local mirroring only for the camera video that is not transmitted to other peers. Your suggestion to allow different levels of transformation (mirror, rotation, etc) and transmitting it would require a daemon change too.
IMHO it is something very nice to offer but that also is out of the Jami scope and would be better suited for a plugin. @aberaud what do you think?
Will it become possible to rotate your own preview (if it makes sense; I think Windows itself rotates the screen if you are using a vertical monitor) -without any distortions?
